Our R&D Centre creates and develops innovative,
entirely original products
We view the creation of new products and the progress of those in development as a continuous process. At one time, our competences have been acknowledged by the Polish Ministry of Development, which granted us the prestigious R&D Centre status as the first company in the industry.
Glass System solutions are created entirely according to our own, original designs. They are developed by our internal team of experienced engineers, not uncommonly in collaboration with recognised science centres.
Every new solution is subjected to the necessary research procedures, so that they fulfil any and all binding legal requirements. This is especially emphasised when it comes to fire resistance, sound insulation, and strength. Every basic Glass System product bears an ETA document.
All new Glass System solutions are based on our own ideas. When making new products, we not only base them on the market’s current needs – not uncommonly, we try to create them. Before beginning construction works, we consult every idea with our internal, interdisciplinary engineering team.
Once the development direction is approved, the first technical drawings are made. It’s not just the Construction department’s doing, though – this also involves the R&D and Tech departments. They approve the final designs for first prototypes jointly.
The design is first verified once the 3D prints are done. They allow us to confirm the adopted construction assumptions. The technical coherence of the various elements is evaluated as well. This stage permits the quick identification of potential design errors and the introduction of any necessary changes.
The approved projects enter the introduction phase. First, the manufacturing tools – above all, various matrices – are created. They are later used for making pilot series of the particular components of a given solution
With all of the necessary components produced, the solution’s first complete prototype is made. The stage entails verifying the structural correctness and fulfilment of the previously-assumed basic criteria in test conditions. A positive result permits the commencement of appropriate testing. Any need to introduce changes requires returning to the design phase.
The approved prototypes are subjected to a series of tests – especially related to sound insulation, fire resistance, and strength – depending on the characteristics of the given solution. Tests are carried out in external, certified laboratories that meet the rigorous requirements. If the results meet our expectations, certification procedures can begin. However, very often the results of the verification testing identify opportunities to perfect the solutions, which most commonly results in returning to the prototype phase, and, in extreme cases, even as far back as the project’s initial phases.
Ending the testing process allows the certification procedures necessary for introducing the products to the market to begin. Approval documents, valid on the national and international markets, such as ETA, are obtained.
Once the necessary documentation has been obtained, the new solution shall be included in the product portfolio. All components are produced to prepare the product for official marketing.
The company’s products that are approved for the market are introduced into the offer – they become available to our partners (specialised contractors and the sector’s distributors). Commercialising the product entails numerous marketing activities to support the sales.
Commercialising a given product is not the final stage. We constantly develop our products, improving their parameters, expanding their uses, and obtaining approvals for further foreign markets.
